November Autumn

Shades of Autumn
Shades of Autumn

Thoughts of autumn bring mild, sunny days and trees covered with brilliant leaves of all colors, but that’s really an October thing. I often get my best leaf color in the first half of November when some leaves have already fallen and the thinner trees allow more light to shine on the trees and inside the trees because the sun’s angle is lower. Sun shining through these trees mutes but enriches the mix of colors. Add in the slight autumn haze that adds blue to the shadows and complements the warm leaf color, even the dried brush and bare branches, and it’s a soft gradation from one end of the rainbow to the other.
