Happy Rain Happy Rain Some hot dry days in early September can feel oppressive and unfair after an excessively hot summer and a downpour is a happy rain to cool things down. Huge raindrops began smacking into everything, just a few, then more, and within minutes the din was deafening and I could barely see across the street with lots of thunder rolling through the valley. Pretty scary for a while, but then the birds began to sing. My gutters runneth over. Well, Mother Nature kind of over did it with some flooding, but as we might say, “when it rains, it pours.” Now if the planet’s climate could dial it back to a regular old storm instead of a monsoon, that would be welcome too. . . . . . . .
