Memories Return Fresh

Memories Return Fresh

The first things to bloom in the yard this spring, these two crocuses go forth together. These crocuses are especially tiny with flowers just about a half-inch across. I’ve never seen another like them, as tiny with narrow, grassy foliage. They bloom days before any of the other crocuses in my yard and many yards as well.

I’m not sure after all these years, but I think an older neighbor shared them with me along with several other bulbs. I treasure the plants I’ve been given by older gardening friends, many of whom had no one else to share with. Now they are gone, but what they shared with me, both the living plants and the living memories, remain.

  1. Oh wow. We don’t have that here yet. We still got ice and snow covering our small lawn. I wonder if I have to start digging away the ice if it doesn’t disappear soon.

I want the pretty spring to show itself 🙂
