First Flowers Waking Up

A walk on the trail to see what’s dared to awaken between the snow and rain and high and low temperatures. I found a little cluster of Persian speedwell or Veronica persica, big bright green and lush rosettes of leaves along the stems and just a few tiny specks of pale blue, flowers just beginning to stand upright and stretch their petals, but clearly still sleepy on a warm March afternoon.
