Suddenly a Hush Fell
Suddenly a Hush Fell

Sparrows and house finches and goldfinches and cardinals and wrens and woodpeckers and starlings and more had all been noisily chattering and eating and socializing and flying about, then, suddenly, silence.

I had overexposed this trying to override the light snowy background which put the Cooper’s hawk in silhouette. That created an effect in the background, misty, murky, shadowed, creating a depth and an eerie foreboding with the bare branches dissolving into the white that I never could have planned.
