Some Photos From Today

Do I choose to drop off my car for service on a day when I’m sure to find interesting things to photograph? Or are they always there to be found? Really I don’t like to drop my car off for service any day but finding interesting things on the walk back home eases the financial concerns of car repairs.

Collections of photos like this from a morning’s walk, along with artwork, poetry, essays and whatnot inspired by the adventure have always been an important part of my creative life. Exploring the place where you live, the place you think is most familiar, and yet finding new things in it all the time, is a concept that’s always fascinated me.

For my very first solo art exhibit I called it “The Extraordinary in the Ordinary”. In the meantime, getting ready for my November exhibit and poetry reading, “Walking Around”, based on things like this.

Here is a selection from today. I’ll share the poem later.

More to come, no doubt!
