It’s been storming off and on for days, but today was one long heavy rainfall as the weather bands from Tropical Storm Cindy reached our area. But that meant tiny droplets clung to everything, especially the flowers. My leeks are blooming, and their unique flower clusters, the blossoms still closed, provide a good show.
Raindrops collect on the bottom-most flowers. Each is a different shade of pink inside depending on how long the allium pod as been open and just what the flower’s genetics are.
Sometimes very dramatic. They can look like sparklers.. . . . . . .
