Hopeful Dove

Hopeful Dove

This mourning dove settled in a prominent spot on the deck railing, fluffed out the feathers and hunched up as snowflakes gently fell, strategically working on my attention to get me to hang a feeder on my deck as I had in the past. There are three feeders right around the corner outside the window on the side of the house. But the doves have always preferred the ones on the deck. I mentioned they could possibly talking to the squirrels to see if they had any influence on the squirrels’ destructive tendencies with bird feeders, especially the ones typically hanging around the deck. I didn’t get an answer, but I did see doves at the feeders later.
