A Purposeful Nap

A Purposeful Nap

The steps were warmed by the sun and as soon as Mimi’s paws touched the warm wood she found just the right step and settled down for several short naps.

Mimi is 19 and will turn 20 this year. She does not roam but only goes outdoors under my supervision. I keep a breakaway bell collar on her so I can keep track of her. She weighs six pounds, so she is just a tiny cat, and easily disappears under the deck or in the garden.

After I finished planting the spinach the other day I went in for a webinar, then was inspired by the need to get just the right photo of the rich red bud clusters on the maple branches I;d been looking at while learning how to maximize my website. I went back outside with my camera and Mimi raced to the door to come out too, and we spent a little extra time outdoors while I photographed things in the beautiful warm light softened by a slight haze of clouds. Mimi is accustomed to years of me photographing her, but she could repurpose this purposeful nap into a modeling session.
