Tranquil in the Woods

Tranquil in the Woods

I spent about six hours on the trail and in the woods with one of my great-nieces last weekend. While that’s the source of a number of a couple recent photos and I also photographed the trail entrances and amenities for the website and brochure, the real reason I was there was to spend time with her. She’s a private person and a juvenile so I will only share this photo of her, but it’s my favorite and probably will be hers. It was our favorite place, in the quiet and dark, the cool soil of the trail, birds singing, and ripe black raspberries here and there.

This photo may turn into a painting too. Each year I have an art and photography exhibit at this trail’s annual fundraiser called “Sun Shadow Ice & Snow: Seasons Along the Panhandle Trail”. I’ve just begun planning for this year’s fourth annual exhibit. Read about it on Portraits of Animals.
