Ripe Red and Purple Virginia Creeper More berries! These are Virginia Creeper berries, ready for birds to eat as they migrate and as they land in their winter home. The color combination of warm green, cool purple and red violet is truly a favorite of mine. In time, the berries will be gone or withered, the stems brown, but their five-part palmate leaves will turn such a brilliant scarlet it’s worth it to let the vine grow all over your fence to see the color. . . . . . . .
