A Little Color for a Cold Winter’s Day

House finch and sparrows
House finch and sparrows

This feeder was very busy, finally, and a house finch finally showed up. They had at one time flooded this feeder and the thistle feeder next to it, but when the wild black cherry on that side of the house came down and took the lilac with it that was once by this window and provided cover for birds, everyone disappeared for a while. Now, 18 months later, I guess it’s safe to come back, though they are still somewhat unprotected, not like the spruce for the chickadee.

I’m glad he’s enjoying his seeds, along with the sparrows.
