Milkweed Makes a Stand

Such a strange looking creature to have come from the fruits of a lovely flower, all green and spiny like some sea creature come to land and climbed a stem to look around. Pods make me think of the movie The Body Snatchers. Soon enough this pod will fade and break open unleashing a cloud of milkweed seeds that will travel on the wind to faraway places, and then they’ll start it all over again next spring.
