Our Talented Groundhog Our Talented Groundhog Our tree-climbing groundhog pauses her feast when she realizes she’s being supurrvised…by Mewsette. Video is about one minute long. Turn on the sound to hear our conversation. Happy #caturday! But not #groundhogday! Our groundhog really does climb the mulberry tree and denudes it of leaves on every branch that will hold her weight. This is actually “Mimi’s real cat tree” that’s kind of recumbent out in the back yard, but it still takes some climbing to get to where her leaves are. Mewsette is hardly a threat to the groundhog, it was probably the presence of both of us that made Lady Groundhog pause in mid-leaf. I had to piece together several short videos that I took of this event, my DSLR is heavy and hard to hold steady, and I almost dropped it when I panned down to Mewsette so I just managed to take a photo of her. Such fun times out there in the back yard! . . . . . . . Follow me on Instagram. Visit my photography galleries on Portraits of Animals. All images used on this site are copyrighted to Bernadette E.
