Gradations

Sometimes a little sun comes in on a short and dark winter day and finds something interesting to point out to me.

I have a great collection of dried beans, nuts and grains. I keep them in glass jars I’ve collected over the years from pickles and applesauce and instant coffee and even from other beans. Each has its own unique shape and size and patterns in the glass. The lids are often a little worse for the wear, but I leave the scratches and dings; they’ve earned them.
