A Steelers Sunday in Pittsburgh

I heard Heinz Field was at capacity, and it certainly looks like it in this photo.

And it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for all those Minnesotans to see what they were up against, both as a team and as a region. I wasn’t at the game, but if you’re from Pittsburgh you know that you don’t even need a pulse to know that the Steelers are playing, and exactly what is happening because it’s just…in the air.

I had to drop off artwork at a gallery right in downtown Pittsburgh and was dreading the traffic, but realized that I was in luck–I’d have a clear shot right into town because everyone would be glued to a TV, radio or some electronic device somewhere watching/listening to/following “the game”, everyone but me and a few other social outcasts, as evidenced by two views of Liberty Avenue, right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, at about 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Not a car on the streets. I took the bus, with three other people, but I still knew what was happening during the game because I could hear people yelling their reactions to the game on the bus, in cars that passed me, from the doors of businesses watching the game, and from the houses in my neighborhood as I walked past.
