Veterans Day 2021 at Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall 21-gun Salute Veterans Day began as a tribute to those who served in WWI, but later was made into a day to honor and remember all who served in all our country’s conflicts. VFW Color Guard As veteran Marine and emcee Rick D’Loss at today’s ceremony at Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall it was not to honor the wars, because our goal was to “beat our swords into plowshares and…never learn war anymore,” that no one would need to give their life or service to war, but that we would live in peace. Pledge of Allegiance Attending a ceremony among friends reminds you how many among us have served our country. Taps Once again the VFW Post 331 in Carnegie brought the colors and provided the benediction and playing of “Taps,” and the 9th Pennsylvania Reserves gave the salute. Nice photo of the flag. I photograph this each year and my photos are taken from in front of the library. . . . . . . . Follow me on Instagram. Visit my photography galleries on Portraits of Animals.
