Pittsburgh On the Water Pittsburgh On the Water I took this photo from a canoe on the Ohio River in 2007. Chartiers Creek, which runs right through Carnegie and which I canoed frequently at that time, spills out into the Ohio River at McKees Rocks. We finished paddling to the end of the creek and proceeded out onto the river. The sun was shining behind the buildings of downtown Pittsburgh so it isn’t as colorful as it could be, but still it’s the same Pittsburgh skyline, the fountain, the bridges, I’d recognize anywhere.
