Encased in Ice Encased in Ice I didn’t realize the rain had begun to freeze on every surface until my neighbor in her truck crashed into another neighbor’s parked car with a loud crash this morning. She was okay, but not so any of four vehicles eventually involved. As I watched, the water droplets hanging on the underside of every branch grew larger and longer, beginning to develop into icicles, and the lilac branches right outside my window slowly began to look varnished with a clear coat of ice.
