A Man-made Thing

Walking in woods that were once a farm, now a park, as leaves fall from trees and brush this man-made element emerges from the understory. I kinda think it has something to do with oil drilling. I saw far more smaller oil derricks around this area when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s and a smaller piece of something left behind wouldn’t be a surprise.
