Autumn Pink Rose Turtlehead, pink in autumn Rose turtlehead is still blooming. She had a rough spot in the late summer and her blossoms sat, her leaves began to brown, no matter how often I watered. But she put out a few tentative blossoms at the end of August and bloomed slowly until September cooled down and more rains came, now some of the shorter stems are just beginning. She’s partially protected by a tree branch, but if it frost this weekend, I think I’ll toss a sheet over her. Seeing pink blossoms there through autumn would be sweet. Summer phlox is bright magenta pink, but the second bloom in autumn is soft and unsaturated. Tall Phlox . . . . . . . Follow me on Instagram. Visit my photography galleries on Portraits of Animals.
