The periwinkle flowers looked a little crumpled around the edges as they began to bloom, but that must have been the flowers that were already partway open at the last freeze. The flowers all seemed to have popped open this morning and look much better. Indeed, they look wide awake.

    1. They are like little bits of magic in the garden, aren’t they? Not showy and tall like the daffodils, but making the place they grow even more beautiful with their bright little faces.
