Queen Anne’s Lace Queen Anne’s Lace This umbel of Queen Anne’s Lace is about the biggest I’ve seen anywhere, and it’s early in the season. There was nothing near enough to give it scale—QAL likes to grow taller than everything around it—so you’ll just have to believe me when I say it was easily 5″ in diameter measured by the width of my hand. It was beautiful to look at on my walk along Chartiers Creek to Main Street in Carnegie, PA.
