Peonies

Peony

I’ve never seen so many buds and flowers on Peony, a very old variety I got from a friend’s grandmother’s family home when it was given up for a new highway. It’s a Japanese type with single petals instead of the big pouf that’s familiar with a peony. It looks like “Soft Salmon Joy”, but I don’t know if I’ll ever identify it.

In 2016 my 60-foot wild black cherry tree on the side of my house dropped all its branches, thankfully not hitting any homes or any people. It’s very sunny there now and that’s why this peony has never had this many blooms. I can’t wait to see it next year.
