Chickens tend to move around a lot, and with the dimming day I wasn’t sure I’d get clear photos of this imperious rooster and his harem as they gathered in the coop. I took several photos as the last two hens entered and the rooster watched them and then me, and finally they all paused, the rooster lifting one clawed foot to take a step and there it was. I thought it would make a nice painting, but it already looks like a painting. Either way, I’m surprised and pleased.
