Frost Crystals Frost Crystals Must have been some excess dampness that made these frost crystals grow in spikes along the blades of grass. Even on such a cold morning the crystals begin to melt as soon as the sun hits them. I found this patch untouched by the early morning sun, knelt in the grass until the sun came round a tree and photographed immediately; even so you can see some of the crystals have lost their sharp edges. Guess I’ll have to be a little quicker next time.
