Flocks of Children Cheshire Sidewalk After several days below freezing and one just about freezing, the temperature was 56 degrees F on this sunny January day, and indeed it was intoxicating. The kids came home from school and filled the streets with totally unorganized running around and laughing. The sidewalk chalk photo is from last year because snow continued melting and washed away all their work from today. Here is a poem I wrote in 2009 celebrating the coming of spring and its effect on the neighborhood kids. Flocks of Children Swirling, swooping clouds of starlings fill the air noisy, babbling conversation flying about the neighborhood flocks of children run in circles, laughing up and down the streets. ©2009 B.E.
