Beckoning Path

Yes, I want to walk that way and explore even more on a sunny autumn day!

I went to Kane’s Woods—in the rain, and the sun, at the same time! This is Tom the Tinker Trail, in the valley, along a little unnamed stream that’s covered with leaves right now. Conserved by the Scott Conservancy, this land was where a part of the Whiskey Rebellion was fought.

I walked this same path when I was a child and visited a pony named Pepper in a barn when it was an old red dog farm road, a mile or so from my home on foot before all the land was developed, and walked the deer trails through the woods and walked in the stream. Pepper got more apples and carrots from me than he probably should have had. Now it’s conserved land and I can still keep the woods and my memories.
