An Excited Visitor Tiger Swallowtail on Phlox This black phase tiger swallowtail was so excited to find this good old-fashioned and very fragrant tall phlox that her wings barely stopped quivering as the sipped on the nectar in each flower. Usually they visit in the morning but this lady visited well into evening. You can see the tails on her wings are blurry. I took this with my smartphone and was totally surprised to get any clear photos at all, but you can even see her legs and antennae. . . . . . . . Follow me on Instagram.
